Now Available: Fact Sheet Summarizing Current Research on IPV, Mental Health and Chronic Illness

Extensive research over the years has established the link between experiencing intimate partner violence (IPV) and a number of physical health, mental health, and substance use-related consequences. NCDVTMH routinely incorporates new research on these topics into training, consultation, and publications.
In the attached fact sheet, we have summarized current evidence related to IPV and trauma-related mental health conditions and chronic illnesses, in order to facilitate access to this information by the domestic violence and other fields. This concise and easy-to-read summary provides an overview of the major documented connections between experiencing abuse and trauma-related effects of abuse. An extensive citation list is included.
