NCDVTMH Celebrates Giving Tuesday

Giving Tues Twitter Header

This has been an exciting year at NCDVTMH. We have expanded our team, welcoming new staff who enhance our research portfolio, elevate our training capacity, and forge new collaborations and coalitions across the fields of domestic and sexual violence, mental health, and substance use services.

As always, survivors are at the heart of everything we do. Our commitment is steadfast: promoting survivor-defined healing, liberation, and equity by transforming the systems that impact survivors of domestic and sexual violence and their families.

With your support, we have:

  • Built on our landmark Coercion Toolkit—which guides health and behavioral health care providers in supporting survivors who experience mental health and substance use coercion—and secured a FORE Foundation grant to pilot interventions in partnership with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
  • Informed the successful passage the Violence Against Women Act Reauthorization Act of 2022. Our expertise ensured the bipartisan House bill included cross-sector training and state-funded partnerships between domestic violence, mental health, and substance use disorder treatment systems.
  • Published guides and hosted panels on diverse dimensions of culturally responsive care, including Faith and Spirituality in Trauma Resilience and Culturally-Rooted Traditions in Healing and Resistance
  • Extended our multilingual offerings by translating our most popular materials into Spanish and French plus provided webinar interpretation in Spanish, Korean, and American Sign Language.

We know survivors’ lives are multifaceted, as are the challenges they face. Ensuring survivors and their families can flourish—with equitable access to health and behavioral health care, trauma-informed services, housing and economic stability, and compassionate communities—takes all of us.

We envision a society where all people are free of systemic, collective, and individual trauma. Together, we can make this vision a reality. Can we count on you?
