About Us - DVMHPI

The National Center on Domestic Violence, Trauma and Mental Health is a project of the Domestic Violence and Mental Health Policy Initiative (DVMPHI), a Chicago-based project that provides training, technical assistance, and policy development to help create trauma-informed advocacy and service systems for survivors of domestic violence and other forms of interpersonal abuse and trauma. The mission of DVMHPI is to end domestic violence by changing social conditions, beliefs, and social actions that perpetuate violence against women and children and by raising awareness of its effects on individuals, families, and communities.

In 2005, DVMHPI received a multi-year award to establish the Center from the Administration on Children, Youth and Families, Administration on Children and Families, United States Department of Health and Human Services.
