Information for Survivors and Their Friends/Family Members

For information on common effects of domestic violence on mental health, making the decision to talk to someone, and deciding whether a particular therapist is right for you, click on the Information for Survivors link, above.

If your friend or family member is in an abusive relationship, click on the link above labeled, "How to Help Your Friend/Family Member."

Internet Safety

The person who abuses you could discover your email and internet activity. A safer way to use the Internet might be to use a computer at your local public library or another public place that offers internet access (such as a bookstore or cafe), at a friend's house, or at work.
